We are mourning with sorrow from the news of the discovery of 215 Indigenous children remains found at former Kamloops Indian Residential School. Prairie Circular Economy wants to extend our sympathy and support to the Tk’emlups te Secwepemc, residential school survivors, and Indigenous peoples. We will continue to work towards ongoing healing with reconciliation and connection. Prairie Circular Economy hears the voices of those who have been brave to come forward to share their stories. We will work together in collaboration and kindness to stop systemic racism in Canada. We also encourage everyone to read and educate themselves on the history and the intergenerational trauma from residential schools.
We encourage those in need to speak to the 24-hour Residential Crisis Line at 1-866-925-4419 or the Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS) Emergency Crisis line (24/7) at 1-800-721-0066.
